Stairmovie 3
The wallpaper movie was intrresting in the way it hid and revealed the pattern underneath. The layering worked well but I wanted more depth so I turned the projector onto the stairway. It too is covered with a flowery pattern - a carpet that coveres the middle section of the stairs.I played around a bit and in the end I focussed the glittery leaf (which actually looked like a leaf-shaped hole on the film) onto a flower in the carpets' pattern. I let the film run and then filmed this on my camera.
I realise the potential of the glitter as a source of light is a really exciting area of investigation. Gliiter which covers a surface becomes a negative space in the film (as all other sources of bright light) but gives a huge area of opportunity for playing around with layering in projected films; revealling the layers beneath through glitter application.
Here is Stairmovie 3
Notes on the soundtrack;
I am not sure about the soundtrack of these films. The sound you hear here is the cameras own sound as it films the projected film. I kind of like its mechanical sound as it seems odd to me that a digital device should sound like it has moving parts. It is also a contrast to the 'naturalness' of the film which I also like. So for now it stays.
