Making films
I have been making films. They are more about just learning to use the software and less about the content. But it is all-consuming and at times entirely frustrating. I spend hours trying to comprehend the most basic steps and then trying to repeat them. I do silly things with the colour green and get a kick out of it like a kid. I play around with sound tracks on garageband and am quite happy just getting the programme to record something that I then manage to save! I am a complete learner and its a luxury to be able to stay in this place for longer than I would otherwise allow myself to stay. Being off my paid job has given me permission to stay in the unknown. There is more to learn from this time off. Much more. I just have to get my head around it, find the connections to theories of learning, of creativity. Sticking it out even when it hurts. Like running with a sore hip. If it hurts too much then there are ways to find support for what you want to do. And then you just have to keep on. Because that is freedom.
